Thank you for visiting the Friends of the Greeley Museums website.  


The Friends of the Greeley Museums is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization. Information on this website is presented for educational and informational purposes as we support the mission of the Greeley History Museums, a city-operated set of museums in Greeley, Colorado.


The Friends is committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of all information shared with us,
collecting information throughout for mission-related purposes, which are explained below.

Data Collection


Friends of the Greeley Museums uses the personal information you provide to us for internal purposes, such as filing and tracking your membership and/or donation(s), analyzing trends, and collecting statistics. The Friends may also compile aggregate statistics about museum visitors, customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information.


The Friends does not collect individually identifiable information about visitors to this website unless you choose to provide that information to us. We collect this information when you create a profile on the website, submit a membership application, volunteer in support of the Museums, request our newsletter, complete online forms/surveys, offer donations, or interact with us for any other purpose.

Depending on the purpose, this includes pertinent information, like your name, billing and/or shipping addresses, telephone number, e-mail address, emergency contact information, social media information, occupation, and/or credit card information. Your credit card information will be used only as needed to process a credit card transaction. 


Our website is not directed toward children under 13As well, you may adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies; however, some features of the website may not function properly.

Information Use and Retention


We use the information we collect to help us better understand our audience, which in turn allows us and the Greeley History Museums to better meet your needs and interests. 


We process your personal information with the goal of a wide range of support to the Friends and the Greeley History Museums, including for the following purposes:

  • To confirm and process online transactions/memberships/donations;

  • To fulfill member benefits;

  • To communicate with our members;

  • To provide information, primarily through mailing lists, about Friends and Museum activities, programs, membership and fundraising opportunities, products and special events;

  • To provide sponsorship/donation/volunteer opportunities;

  • To improve the website, including to improve the features, tools, functionality;

  • As otherwise disclosed at the time personal information is collected.


We
retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Privacy


The Friends is committed to data security and has taken reasonable precautions to protect such information from loss, misuse or alteration. We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including secure payment processing systems, restricted data access, and encryption where appropriate. If you choose to share personal information with us, that information is available only to Friends of the Greeley Museums leadership and Greeley History Museums employees who provide a service related to your correspondence. 


E-mail addresses obtained through the web site or other format will not be sold or given to private companies for marketing purposes. The Friends does not sell, exchange or release website visitors’ names, e-mail addresses or other individually identifying information to parties outside of the Friends or the Greeley History Museums.


Because the Greeley History Museums are operated by the City of Greeley, certain records shared with or maintained by the City may be subject to the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). Friends of the Greeley Museums will make reasonable efforts to protect personal information; however, information in the possession of the City may be disclosed in accordance with applicable law.


The Friends of the Greeley Museums website may include links to websites operated by third parties over which we have no control. Once you leave the Friends’ website, our Privacy Policy will not apply, and you access such sites at your own risk.

Information Sharing


Friends of the Greeley Museums does not sell, rent, or trade personal information.


As is the common practice for nonprofits that support the arts, Friends of the Greeley Museums may share personal information with the City of Greeley and its museum entities solely for purposes directly related to supporting museum operations, membership services, events, and fundraising activities. Neither Friends of the Greeley Museums nor the City of Greeley will share, sell, or distribute this information to any other third party without the explicit consent of the individual, unless required by law.


Otherwise, we may share your personal information:

  • With third parties that perform services on our behalf, including those that carry out activities related to our membership services and events, and those that assist with our business operations, including data storage providers, software providers, employment relations providers, insurers and banking partners, and publishers. These service providers are contractually required to use personal information only for the services they provide to Friends of the Greeley Museums and to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security measures;

  • Where required, we will obtain your explicit consent before sharing your personal information outside of Friends of the Greeley Museums or the City of Greeley;
